The 204 status code means that the request was received and understood, but that there is no need to send any data back. Also means “No Content.”
This error can be useful in web design when you want to return a success message but do not want to return a message in the body or do not have a body to return. When a delete request is sent to a web service, this message lets you know that the deletion was successful. Error 204 tells you that because the deleted data no longer exists, so there is nothing to send you.
Error 204 also allows input for scripts without changing the document at the same time.
